Many of Skyline’s top baseball and football players use the phrase “I’ve got Chiles” on an almost daily basis. But just who or what exactly is Chiles? Furthermore, what’s it all about?

Kevin Chiles

Mr. Kevin Chiles is the owner of Chiles Sports Development and frequently works with Field of Champions, a youth baseball skills development group. He is a NESTA-certified personal trainer widely considered to be one of the best in the northwest. Working behind the scenes; in the weight room, on the TRX, or out in the field; he has undoubtedly contributed a great deal to the success of Skyline sports.

Chiles is not only a great coach but also a pinnacle athlete. He has 10 years of track experience and 12 years of football experience. Five of his football years were spent playing at the Division 1 level, putting his cornerback skills to use for Boise State. Although unconfirmed, Chiles’ disciples have reported that the man boasts a vertical jump slightly over 4 feet. Chiles himself revealed that his bench press one-rep maximum was 320 lbs at its best, surpassing that of many famous professional athletes.

However, Chiles’ leadership extends beyond inspiring his athletes via solely shock and awe at his own abilities. Chiles’ charisma and warm smile is what always carries the day. Senior football player Quinn Nakano praised Chiles as “one of the greatest motivators I have ever been around. He motivates everyone to endure through their pain to complete the task at hand. The success of Skyline athletics has proven what an asset he is to our athletic program”. Kevin Faulker, Skyline football star now attending Washington State, put it simply with “he’s a good guy”. In the end, Chiles’ interpersonal skills ensure that athletes not only get better, but also make friends with their fellow teammates.
